April 27th, 2008It’s about my goddamn hair…
Ever since I was a kid,
I had a dream,
I really wanted to have long hair,
Very Very long hair.
I found it really cool,
But sadly it was…
Not allowed in my school.
Everytime my hair
touched my ears,
My teacher used to force me to cut it…
and even said that my hair was like a grizzly bear.
I tried to explain it to her that,
I don’t see a negative point in having big hair
Any interference by school
is so not fair.
It’s ironic actually,
that certain things we do
in the name of discipline
are so very contradictory…
We iron our shirts…to look good.
And we cut our hair…to (er…according to me) not look good.
And forcing any child to…
cut his hair is a blatant violation of that very Democracy…
There’s more I have to say,
But that’d be in my next post…
Anyways, concluding the poem
I’d say
This rule is a son of a nut…
What’s the friggin’ point in having a haircut.

“son of a nut”?
poetry yes… but that part somehow didn’t quite….(/isn’t quite…)
i can’t really find the exact words to describe what could be said(/written) in place of the dots.
pls fill in the blanks(/dotted areas) with ur own imagination.
n also, i sure as hell agree… why a haircut?

@Surj: k..dude…I do feel son-of-a-nut is a bit meaningless…But nut means foolish…and son of a nut signifies even more foolish…
But I’ll listen to my readers and replace it with something more meaningful..
@Ami:
And I’ve done the same…
Not now, but by the time you see this message i would’ve…

Reasonable poem indeed. I too hated cutting hair in my skool life….but i was a bit lucky….coz i used to look better with short hairs.;)
And yes, this son of a nut is quite a nice way to express such a weird rule.
Very nice post.
Keep writing.
